Tone Up and Slim Down mobile apps
360 Design was tasked with designing one of the first “Fremium” subscription apps in the iTunes Store. For a basic free model, people have access to daily tips from Jillian, recipes, exercises, podcasts and the ability to read real-time message boards. Then they are offered the ability to upgrade to a paid weekly subscription model which allows for a premium experience, including a personalized fitness plan, custom meal plans, the ability to participate in the message boards, the suppression of ads and real-time connectivity to the Jilliam Michaels website among its features. Our challenge was to help develop the strategy around the fremium model, how it would work and design and develop the mobile apps around the strategy.
